Playing with weight

Who adds weight to their players for Solitaire games?

Lead Tape

Good Question Dave, I’ve recently started to add weight to my solitaire teams. I use high density lead tape that measures .5” wide cut to adhere without showing under the player’s platform.

Once the lead tape is applied I add a layer of Scotch double sided tape to cover the lead, then apply the base. For single clip bases you have trim out the small square to push the clip through.
The results are a better running figure on a more lively board. Ray F

Lead tape also

New teams I am working on using lead tape also and applied the same as Ray is describing. Players are 67 Bigmen.

Most are..

Most are around 4 grams. A few go as high as 7 grams.

Lead tape

I apply 1 layer of lead tape to fit inside the confines of the bottom platform of the figure. The heaviest figure to include a TTC base (base with wheel) will come in just under 4.0 grams, the sprinter figure/end will come in around 3.5 grams possibly less. The weight helps the figure to remain more stable on the vibrating board.

I use a brand called Clubmaker item #9065 .5" wide by 75" on the roll. I get it at Golfsmith International. It's very thin, which works well sandwiched between the figure platform and base.

lead split shots and fun tak

I add weight. Helps keep them from bouncing or falling over on my pro-bowl board.

I use the fun tak mounting putty with a small fishing lead split shot mixed in. I experiment with different sizes. Stick it on the bottom of the base with the split shot on the rear. That helps keep the player from falling forward.
